Advocacy, Care, and Community for Sickle Cell Warriors

Serving Communities Through Action

Victoria Community Based Organization (CBO) is a grassroots initiative founded in January 2025 in Oyugis, Homa Bay County, Kenya. The organization was established to address the critical health and social challenges faced by individuals and families living with sickle cell disease. With a strong focus on advocacy, access to healthcare, and community empowerment, Victoria CBO works to improve the quality of life for affected children and their caregivers. Through health education, psychosocial support, and collaboration with local health facilities, the organization strives to reduce stigma, enhance treatment adherence, and promote dignity for all.

Committed community engagement

Despite limited resources, Victoria CBO continues to grow as a beacon of hope for vulnerable families across the region.

Through community engagement, we have listened to stories of resilience and hardship from children unable to access sickle cell disease medication, to caregivers battling stigma, poverty, rejection and isolation. These voices guide our mission and remind us daily of the importance of what we do.
